Hey Canada, Are you really strong and free?
Land of the North,
When you sally forth,
What is it that we see?
When you come to the table,
Are you ready? Are you able?
Do your principles stand out?
Or do you flail about?
Are you a splendid nation
With eyes on seventh generation,
Whose First Nation sons and daughters
Face the future with fantastic hope?
Do you let your strengths abound -
Your vast resources in the ground
And mine each person’s Excellence,
From sea to sea to sea?
Can your people worship free
Whatever God they long to see?
Do people practise love of neighbour,
Whoever she or he may be?
Do your people live in health
Amid God-given, gracious wealth?
Do those who prosper stand on guard
For others for whom life is hard?
To answer “yes” is what I see
For this, my land of liberty -
My love, my Canada, mon pays.
